Needles and Pins (The Searchers single)

The Searchers' 1964 single 'Needles and Pins', written by Jack Nitzsche and Sonny Bono, became one of the most influential records of the Merseybeat era. Its chiming, layered guitar arrangement and aching harmonies are often credited as a direct forerunner of folk rock. The hit carried the Liverpool sound to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
