Love Me Do (single)

Released in 1962, 'Love Me Do' was the Beatles' debut single and their first toe-hold on the UK chart. Built on a harmonica hook and the Lennon-McCartney songwriting credit, it announced a Liverpool group ready to record on its own terms. Modest in its first chart showing, it was the opening shot of Merseybeat's national breakthrough.
