"Mystery Train"
Written by Junior Parker and first recorded for Sun in 1953, 'Mystery Train' was a Memphis blues before Elvis Presley remade it in 1955. Presley's version, with Scotty Moore's chugging guitar figure imitating the rhythm of a train, became one of his finest Sun sides. It shows the studio recycling its own R&B catalogue into the new rockabilly sound. The song marks the closing stretch of Presley's time with Sam Phillips.
