Founding of Trax Records

Trax Records, established in Chicago by Larry Sherman in the mid-1980s, was the label that turned the city's club sound into a mass-pressed catalog. Notorious for cheap, recycled vinyl and rough fidelity, it nonetheless released a remarkable run of foundational house and acid records. Its output put Chicago house into the hands of DJs across America and Europe.
