DJ Pierre
DJ Pierre, born Nathaniel Pierre Jones in Harvey, Illinois, in 1965, was a founding member of Phuture and a key author of the acid house sound. With his bandmates he discovered that abusing the controls of a Roland TB-303 produced an uncanny, liquid resonance no one had intended. He went on to carry house and acid further through later productions.

DJ Pierre was a founding member of Phuture, where the group's experiments with a Roland TB-303 produced the unintended squelch that became acid house. The discovery reframed a malfunctioning bass synthesizer as the genre's defining instrument.
