"Chega de Saudade" / "Bim Bom" (1958 single)

Released on Odeon in August 1958, this 78 rpm single paired João Gilberto's "Chega de Saudade" with his own "Bim Bom" and is often cited as the first true bossa nova record. Backed by an arrangement under Jobim, it introduced the world to Gilberto's hushed voice and revolutionary guitar batida. The single was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for its historical importance.
