45 RPM, Paul van Dyk's 1994 debut album, captured the brighter, melodic edge of Berlin's scene as it began to flower into trance. Made in the reunified city's studios, it showed how the same energy that drove the Love Parade could turn euphoric and song-like. The album announced one of the era's most internationally successful Berlin producers.
